Description

Child labour is fuelled by structural factors such as lack of access to education and the failure of social monitoring systems. To break this cycle, the session highlights the need to create synergies between the education and child protection sectors, in particular by extending compulsory schooling, training teachers and setting up interconnected information management systems. Drawing on evidence and international feedback, discussions will aim to identify the most effective design elements for transforming these essential services into concrete bulwarks against exploitation, while promoting the sharing of good practices between different regions of the world.
